Here’s a simple motivation hack to help someone imagine a different possibility.

Put them in a future state by asking, “What’s it like when ________?

…when your team fully trusts you and follows your lead.

…when you walk into that big meeting and everyone listens.

…when you’ve finally nailed the tough conversation you’ve been avoiding.

…when you’re recognized for the work only you could have done.

…when the new hire you mentored is now thriving.

…when people say, “You’ve really grown as a leader.”

Have them describe it in their own words, and you’re halfway there.
