Don’t criticize when correcting

While corrections, disagreements, and debates may not be intended as criticism, they can affect people in the same way, especially if they’re not delivered mindfully. 

When we frame a correction as “you’re wrong” as opposed to “that’s wrong,” we just made it personal.

We criticized the person rather than the action. 

Rather than say, “when I see so many errors, I start to wonder what’s going on,” you can keep it to just the observable facts and say “There are a lot of typos in this presentation, and we need to ensure it’s 100% accurate.”
